Construction details

Gravel raft

Designed to limit the consequences of liquefaction and reduce damage to the foundations, soils are stripped down and replaced with compacted gravel; a process overseen and signed off by an engineer.

Insulation

Creating warm, dry, healthy homes is a given. We go above and beyond the building code requirements by using an R3.6 ceiling batt with an R2.2 ceiling blanket on top.

GIB® intertenancy wall

GIB® Intertenancy Barrier Systems are designed to provide an NZBC compliant intertenancy wall between medium density dwellings. The lightweight systems consist of a double timber or steel frame with a 25mm thick plasterboard barrier (GIB Barrierline®) in the cavity between the two frames.

Rigid air barrier

For increased structural bracing for a strong, safe, weathertight building, all properties include a rigid air barrier to prevent airflow from the exterior or the cavity into the building.
