We made the right decision to purchase our townhouse in Riccarton off the plans, the market prices kept increasing - but we loved the security of knowing our purchase price was locked down. Since purchasing it as an investment property 2 years ago we have found it so easy to rent - with being of a higher spec than most other rentals on the market. We have a decent amount of equity in the property and haven't looked back.
I purchased my townhouse off the plans which was such a simple process. During construction my situation changed and I ended up selling the property once it was complete - but I managed to do this easily and at a much higher price than what I had purchased it for, so while I didn't get to live in it for long - it turned out to be a great investment anyway.
